A calculation engineer, often also referred to as a simulation engineer, performs simulation calculations and tests products and systems for various properties such as load, performance, stability and service life. With the assistance of the finite element method, he simulates physical processes and analyses virtual prototypes with influences such as forces, illumination and acceleration. He deals with such topics as rigidity, solidity, dynamics, acoustics, structure crash, occupant protection, pedestrian protection, multi-body simulations and thermal calculations. His tasks include not only the coordination and performance of simulation tests, but also the analysis, documentation and presentation of findings for the Group itself and customers.
