Living & working
Theory and practice are very close in the science district of Ulm, Wissenschaftsstadt. All major engineering companies, including the ALTEN office, are located in the Science Park in close proximity to the college and university. Our approximately 50 employees research and develop the technologies of tomorrow there.
Although the location is just outside of Ulm, there are a number of nearby options for spontaneous shopping during your lunch break. The nearest supermarkets can be reached by car within five minutes.
The connection to the public transport system is very good. It’s a five-minute walk from the office to the Lise-Meitner-Strasse stop. Bus lines 5 and 15 stop there. In addition, tram line 2 ends at Science Park II directly opposite the office.
The B10 federal road takes you to the A8 motorway in the direction of Stuttgart or Augsburg in less than ten minutes. There are plenty of parking spaces around the building.

Numerous large and small companies use the economically favourable location of Ulm between Stuttgart and Munich. They are mainly active in the commercial vehicles, electrical engineering, pharmacy, building materials, and metal processing sectors.
The city of 125,000 inhabitants is located directly on the Danube, which also represents a border line. The smaller sister city Neu-Ulm on the opposite bank of the Danube does not belong to the state of Baden-Württemberg, but to Bavaria.
The most famous landmark of the city is the Ulm Minster. This Gothic church has the highest church tower in the world at 161.5 metres. In addition, the Fisher district and the crooked house are definitely worth a visit. The Friedrichsau on the eastern outskirts is ideal for relaxing or sports.
